Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)

The Baraga County Community Foundation YAC is a committee of persons 12 to 21 years of age that represent the youth in our community by serving as strategists for positive change.

Youth Advisory Committee members learn:

  • Leadership skills, training paid for by the BCCF.
  • Tenacity skill levels, patience, and ability to successfully follow through with tasks.
  • How to navigate the adult world of boards, committees, media, officials, and government to address needs in our community.

The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)

  • surveys the needs of youth in the community,
  • selects and recommends local programs to grant money to,
  • creates community and human service projects,
  • and learns how to actively lead in our community.
