MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Baraga County Community Foundation is to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Baraga County, Michigan.

It shall serve as a resource developer, building permanent endowments and providing services to donors, nonprofit organizations, and the community at large.

It shall serve as a steward, receiving, managing and distributing community services and resources to donors, nonprofit organizations and the community at large.

It shall serve as a grant maker, providing direct financial support to targeted programs that address immediate or emerging community needs.

It shall serve as a community resource, developing coalitions and mobilizing community leaders and constituencies.

Finally, the Foundation shall serve as a catalyst promoting and supporting youth leadership, volunteerism and philanthropy.

CASE STATEMENT    Because we believe that our community should have access to resources that will meet its needs, we assess the needs of our community, we hold permanent endowment funds, we raise funds and we provide funding, we research and write grants, we act as a convener providing resources and information, and we connect people to resources.
